Nevada - Las Vegas
Photos from Nevada - Las Vegas. This trip was in September 2005. This was my second trip to Vegas and it was just as entertaining as the last one 3 years ago.
We stayed at Ballys which is really central to the main strip and easy for access all areas. If you want somewhere with really nice rooms and a central location where you don’t have to pay through the nose I recommend Ballys. If you are already in the States and want to visit Las Vegas United Airlines have some good deals if you book a little in advance. The flight for us was only one hour from Los Angeles and only cost $118 dollars return.
Las Vegas is not just for gambling, you are free to enter all the casinos at no cost and either shop till you drop, eat from an unlimited choice of places, admire the amazing casino themes or let the strip entertain you with a huge variety of shows and performers. A lot of the casinos interconnect and they are HUGE, it’s easy to get lost! Pack your walking boots, some sun screen and have a few dollars spare for having some fun.
If you are hiring a car don’t forget that the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam are with easy reach, or you can book tours on the strip by bus or helicopter!
This is a shot from the plane on the way to Las Vegas from Los Angeles. Thanks DGH.

Another shot from the plane, thanks DGH.

You can see on this photo where the airport is and just to the left of that is the main new strip where the popular casinos live.

The Bellagio Sign. I would love to stay here one day, it’s the casino/hotel I love the most. Marble everywhere!

Oh yummy, the Harley Davidson Cafe. A real cool place to munch down some really tastey food actually! Don’t just go for the motorbikes swinging above your head, the food is quite good and is fresh unlike some eateries you find on the strip.

View of the strip from one of the many walkways that cross over the strip. Not too shabby if I do say so myself.

The same again in a moody black and white.

Comedy stop. ![]()

Oh The Venetian… probably my second fave hotel/casino.
It was really hot in Las Vegas, around 36 C!! No I am not kidding.

I loved this shot, it’s still the Venetian.
