Time out
Yup, that’s exactly what I have been doing - taking 3 weeks time out. And let’s face it. We all need a break sometimes. So apologies for the blog articles being non-existent recently! I’ve spent some great time with friends in California and thanks to all of you for the last few weeks. It’s been great.
I’ve been up in Sequoia National Park for 4 days and seen the thickest, whitest and fluffiest snow in my life. That also; might I add, we were totally unprepared for. I am glad I had layers! I swear we saw bear print in the snow too, but I am no expert. 
I’ve been to Six Flags for a day packed with thrills and whiplash. Oh my neck still hurts… X has to be the best ride we went on, along with Déjà Vu. I have never felt like I was free falling for so long!
Hollywood has been on the list too and my friend and I were lucky enough to catch a free Kaiser Cheifs gig (for Jimmy Kimmel’s TV show) and meet them after. There’s loads of stuff being filmed all the time and most tickets are free. We grabbed our tickets from www.1iota.com.
Another place we discovered was the Hotel Cafe where you can find some real new musical talent just off the main Hollywood drag. It’s a real friendly and intimate place, definitely somewhere to go back to. I have fallen in love with a band I heard there a few weeks ago. They go by the name “Redcar” and you can find some of their tunes on myspace. The lead singer, Heather Reid, has an addictive voice that makes me want to hum along to everything she sings and she has great stage presence backed by the rest of the band. If you’re in the LA area and fancy some live music, give Hotel cafe a try on 1623 1/2 N. Cahuenga Blvd.
Catching up…
I’ve been up to all sorts these last few weeks but today I thought I should take a look at my world of work and see what everyone has been up to! I have loads to catch up on and get doing. Some of those things are… taking the ALA’s Web Design Survey, 2007, buy my new Macbook Pro (I can’t wait for Leopard!), get down with POSH and get my head around how I missed the huge April fools WCAG 2.0 joke! I read that this morning and though, nooooooooooo I have so much to get my head around! But, my excuse is that my birthday is April fools day, so I was busy enjoying myself.
So now I am back online, I’ll be writing a new article soon. I have some interesting projects coming up and I hope I can write about one of them soon. Until then, cheers.
